Hailey is the county seat of Blaine County, located in Idaho's Wood River Valley about 12 miles south of Sun Valley. Most visitors drive US Highway 75 from Boise (2.5 hours via I-84 and US 26) or from Salt Lake City via the same route. Friedman Memorial Airport sits just south of town, mainly serving ski season travelers. The historic 1883 Blaine County Courthouse downtown remains one of Idaho's oldest continuously operating courthouses.
