Gunn City is a tiny Missouri community of 65 people in Cass County, about 45 miles south of Kansas City via Highway 71. State Route 52 runs east-west through town, connecting to Peculiar and Harrisonville. Most traffic consists of locals heading north to KC suburbs for work and shopping. The town was named after James Gunn, who opened a store and post office here when the Missouri Pacific Railroad arrived in the 1880s.
