Guin is a small Alabama town in Marion County, connected by US Highway 43 running north-south and State Route 18 going east-west. Most visitors arrive via Interstate 22, then take US 43 north about 25 miles to reach town. The area features rolling hills and forests typical of northwestern Alabama's Appalachian foothills. Guin was the starting point for the infamous April 3, 1974 tornado that meteorologists still study today.
