Guadalupe is a small farming town in Santa Barbara County, about 10 miles west of Santa Maria via Highway 1. Most visitors take Highway 101 to Santa Maria, then drive west on Highway 166 or Highway 1 through strawberry fields and flat farmland. The town sits near the coast with a Mediterranean climate and serves as a gateway to the massive Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes, which include some of California's tallest coastal sand dunes at 500 feet high.
