Groveton is a small East Texas town of about 900 people, sitting in the Piney Woods about 100 miles northeast of Houston. You'll reach it via US 287 from Houston through Huntsville, or from Dallas via I-45 south to Huntsville then US 287 north. The 1914 red brick courthouse anchors the town square and serves as the area's most distinctive landmark.
