Griffith is a northwest Indiana city of 16,000 people, strategically located between Chicago and the Indiana Dunes. Interstate 65 runs along the eastern edge while US Route 30 cuts through downtown, making it a convenient stop for travelers heading between Indianapolis and Chicago. The flat prairie landscape experiences typical Midwest weather with Lake Michigan's influence just 15 miles north. Downtown's Griffith Historical Park preserves the original 1904 railroad depot that started this former farming community.
