Gridley is a small farming town of about 400 people in eastern Kansas, roughly 60 miles southwest of Kansas City. The main route is US 75 south from Topeka, then west on county roads. From Kansas City, take I-35 south to US 75 near Ottawa. The area experiences typical Great Plains weather with hot summers and cold winters. The town's 1904 limestone schoolhouse remains a notable landmark from its early settlement period.
