Greenfield lies in California's Salinas Valley, accessible via US 101 about 25 miles southeast of Salinas. The city sits between the Santa Lucia and Gabilan mountain ranges, surrounded by agricultural fields. Most visitors arrive via the Walnut Avenue exit off Highway 101, while State Route 146 provides eastern access toward Pinnacles National Park. The Mediterranean climate supports year-round farming operations. Greenfield is home to one of California's few remaining drive-in movie theaters on nearby Front Street.
