Greenbelt is a planned New Deal community from the 1930s located 13 miles northeast of D.C. in Prince George's County. The Baltimore-Washington Parkway runs right through town, connecting to Baltimore and Washington, while I-495 forms the southern border and provides Beltway access. The Greenbelt Metro station offers Green Line service to downtown D.C. The city's original Art Deco community center still hosts town meetings where residents vote by raising colored cards.
