Green Tree is a small borough just southwest of Pittsburgh that sits along major routes to the airport. Interstate 79 runs along its western edge, connecting to Pittsburgh International Airport 10 miles south, while US Route 19 cuts through town linking downtown Pittsburgh to the south hills. The Pennsylvania Turnpike passes just south, making it a convenient stop for long-distance travelers. The historic volunteer fire station has anchored the community since 1929.
