Grantsboro is a small farming town of 645 people in rural Pamlico County, reached via NC Highway 55 from either New Bern (20 miles southeast) or Kinston (25 miles northwest). The community sits among tobacco fields and pine forests about 15 miles inland from the Neuse River. Most visitors arrive via US 70, then connect to local highways. The volunteer fire department still rings its original 1920s fire bell during community celebrations.
