Grantfork is a small Madison County town of about 460 people, located 30 miles northeast of St. Louis along Illinois Route 4. Most visitors arrive via I-55 Exit 23, then drive eight miles north on Route 4 through rolling farmland. The town sits between Highland and Greenville, making it a quiet stop along this rural corridor. Its most notable landmark is a preserved 1898 one-room schoolhouse that still stands on the main street.
