Grant-Valkaria is a small coastal town in Brevard County, about 20 miles south of Melbourne via US-1. The main route from Orlando takes I-95 south to Exit 156, then east on Micco Road. This barrier island community sits between the Indian River Lagoon and Atlantic Ocean, with A1A providing scenic coastal access. The town houses the visitor center for Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, America's first national wildlife refuge from 1903.
