Granite Quarry is a small North Carolina town of 3,000 people located 40 miles northeast of Charlotte via US Highway 52 and I-85. The town sits in Rowan County's rolling Piedmont region and connects easily to Salisbury just three miles south. It's named after the massive granite quarries that once drove the local economy, and several deep, water-filled former quarries still remain around town today.
