Granite Falls is a small agricultural city in southwestern Minnesota, about two hours west of Minneapolis via US 212. The Minnesota River creates a scenic valley break in the flat prairie landscape, and the town serves as Chippewa County's seat with 2,685 residents. EV charging is available at the local Hy-Vee for cross-state travelers. The city's name comes from pink Sioux quartzite outcroppings along the river that early settlers mistakenly identified as granite.
