Granger is a small farming town in eastern Williamson County, about 40 miles northeast of Austin via I-35 and Highway 95. The drive takes around 45 minutes through rolling Blackland Prairie countryside. The town of just over 1,000 sits where Central Texas transitions from Hill Country limestone to coastal plain farmland, with rich clay soils that have supported agriculture for generations. Most notable is the perfectly preserved 1920s downtown, where the old bank still displays its original pressed-tin ceiling through the front windows.
