Grand Saline is a small east Texas city about 70 miles from Dallas, accessible via I-20 east to Highway 37 north. The town sits on Highway 80, connecting it to Tyler (25 miles southeast) and other regional communities. Known for its massive underground salt dome, Grand Saline has been continuously mining table salt since the 1840s, with the operation still supplying salt nationwide today.
