Grand Cane is a small De Soto Parish community in northwest Louisiana, accessible via Highway 171 north from I-20 near Mansfield. The town sits about 45 miles from Shreveport in rolling pine country along the historic Sabine River watershed. Most visitors arrive from Shreveport via US 84 west or from East Texas via the same highway. Grand Cane was named for early sugarcane plantations established here in the 1840s.
