Grafton, the Taylor County seat, sits in West Virginia's rolling hills along US Route 50, about 20 miles west of Clarksburg and 30 miles north of Morgantown via nearby Interstate 79. North Central West Virginia Airport is 15 miles northeast near Bridgeport. The city's claim to fame is the International Mother's Day Shrine at Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church, where the first official Mother's Day service was held in 1908.
