Grafton sits where the Illinois and Mississippi rivers meet in western Illinois, creating dramatic bluffs and water views. Drive north on Highway 3 from Alton (20 miles) or take I-270 west from St. Louis to Highway 3 north (45 minutes). The town serves mostly day-trippers from the St. Louis area via the scenic Great River Road. It's home to Illinois' oldest winery, established in 1857.
