Gorham is a small farming town of 400 people on US Highway 40 in west-central Kansas, about 35 miles east of Hays and 25 miles west of Russell. The historic grain elevator towers over the prairie, serving as a landmark for travelers crossing Kansas on this main east-west route through wheat country.
