Goodwater lies about 50 miles southeast of Birmingham in Alabama's scenic hill country. Most visitors reach this Coosa County town via Highway 231 from either Birmingham or Montgomery, with Highway 9 serving as the main north-south route through the community. The town got its name from an exceptionally pure natural spring that still flows near downtown.
