Goodrich is a small East Texas community in Polk County, about 75 miles northeast of Houston via US 59 and US 190. Located in the Piney Woods near Sam Houston National Forest, it sits along US Highway 190 between Livingston and Huntsville. The area features rolling hills covered in tall pines, quite different from the flat coastal plains to the south. Goodrich hosts the annual Polk County Youth Fair each spring, where local 4-H and FFA members showcase livestock and compete in agricultural events.
