Goodman is a small farming town in central Mississippi, about 45 miles north of Jackson via Highway 17. Most visitors drive up from Jackson on I-55 to Durant, then take Highway 12 west and Highway 17 north. The area sits where Delta farmland meets pine forests, with cotton and soybean fields stretching in all directions. The town lies near the historic Natchez Trace, with several antebellum plantation ruins scattered throughout the surrounding countryside.
