Gonzales is a small Texas town about an hour from both Austin and San Antonio, connected by US Highway 183 from Austin and US Highway 87 from San Antonio. The town sits where several state highways meet at the historic courthouse square. It's famous for firing the first shot of the Texas Revolution in 1835 over a disputed cannon and the defiant "Come and Take It" flag.
