Goleta sits 10 miles west of Santa Barbara along Highway 101, which connects it to LA and San Francisco. The city enjoys year-round mild weather between the mountains and ocean. Santa Barbara Airport is actually located in Goleta, just minutes from downtown. The name comes from the Chumash word meaning "good land," and you can still shop at the original 1922 Jordano's grocery store on Hollister Avenue.
