Glidden is a small farming town in west-central Iowa, about an hour northwest of Des Moines via Highway 30. The main routes are Highway 30 east-west and Highway 141 north-south, intersecting right downtown. Most visitors are passing through on the historic Lincoln Highway corridor or making the short drive to Carroll. The massive grain elevator dominates the skyline and serves as a landmark visible for miles across the surrounding cornfields.
