Glens Falls sits where the Hudson River plunges through limestone cliffs at the foot of the Adirondacks, about an hour north of Albany via I-87 (Exit 18). Route 9 runs right through downtown and continues to Lake George 10 miles north, while Route 149 connects east to Vermont. The Hyde Collection downtown displays works by Picasso and Degas in an elegant 1912 mansion.
