Glendale is a small residential city in St. Louis County, just eight miles southwest of downtown St. Louis via Interstate 64. The city sits along I-64 and US Highway 40, making it easily accessible for both commuters and travelers heading west toward Chesterfield or east into the city. With about 6,100 residents in under four square miles, it's surrounded by other St. Louis suburbs like Clayton and Webster Groves. The historic Sappington House, built in 1808, operates as a museum showcasing early Missouri frontier life.
