Glen Echo is a tiny Potomac River town eight miles northwest of DC, accessible via the scenic Clara Barton Parkway or MacArthur Boulevard from Bethesda. This 276-person community centers around Glen Echo Park, a former amusement park turned arts center. The park's 1921 Dentzel carousel still operates, and its Spanish Ballroom hosts popular weekend swing dancing on the original 1933 maple floor.
