Gilgo is a tiny coastal hamlet on Long Island's barrier island system, accessible via the Robert Moses Causeway from the Southern State Parkway. Most visitors drive about 90 minutes from NYC or use local routes through Bay Shore. The area offers some of Long Island's most undeveloped oceanfront, providing a quieter beach experience than nearby Jones Beach State Park.
