Gholson is a small Texas town of about 1,100 people located 15 miles southeast of Waco via Highway 6. The main route is Highway 6 from I-35 Exit 330, connecting residents to Waco for work and services. The community sits on rolling central Texas terrain along the historic Chisholm Trail, where massive cattle drives passed through in the late 1800s on their way to Kansas markets.
