Genoa is a farming town of 860 people in east-central Nebraska, about 75 miles northwest of Lincoln. US Highway 22 runs right through town, connecting to major routes via US-81 and Interstate 80. Most visitors come for agricultural business or family ties rather than tourism. The town proudly marks itself as the birthplace of the Pony Express, with a historical marker downtown commemorating the legendary mail service.
