Gateway is a tiny rural community in northwest Arkansas along Highway 412, about 15 miles west of Rogers. The main route from Springdale or Rogers follows Highway 412 west through rolling Ozark foothills. Long-distance travelers use this road to connect between I-49 and Oklahoma. Rogers Municipal Airport is 15 miles east. The area remains agricultural with traditional cattle pastures and hay fields between scattered homes.
