Gaston is a small town of about 1,800 people in Lexington County, roughly 20 miles south of Columbia via Highway 321. Interstate 26 provides regional access about 10 miles north of town. Columbia Metropolitan Airport is 25 miles northeast. The area features rolling Midlands terrain with remnants of early 1900s mill sites along the nearby Congaree River corridor.
