Gary is a small farming town in eastern South Dakota, right on the Minnesota border. It sits at the intersection of US Highway 14 and State Highway 15, about 45 miles west of Sioux Falls. Most visitors pass through on Highway 14 while traveling between regional centers or accessing surrounding agricultural areas. The town's historic grain elevator towers over the prairie, visible for miles across the flat farmland.
