Gary City is a small East Texas community of about 400 people, located 20 miles northwest of Carthage via State Highway 149. Surrounded by pine forests in Panola County, it's accessible from Marshall and Shreveport through US 59 and local farm roads. The town maintains its own volunteer fire department station that doubles as a community hub.
