Garrison is a small East Texas town of about 1,000 people located 20 miles southwest of Marshall on Highway 43. The drive takes you through dense pine forests typical of the region. Most visitors arrive via Highway 43 from either Marshall or Nacogdoches, with longer trips connecting through Interstate 20. The town still has one of the few manual railroad crossings left in East Texas.
