Garrison is a tiny farming town of 286 people in east-central Iowa, about 25 miles from Waterloo. Take Highway 218 to Vinton, then County Road V21 east through corn and soybean fields. The area's rolling hills and creek valleys make for scenic rural driving. The town's 1902 white wooden church with its tall steeple dominates the small downtown and serves as a landmark visible from the surrounding farmland.
