Garner is a farming town of 3,000 in north-central Iowa, 15 miles south of Minnesota. Highway 18 runs east-west through downtown, connecting to Algona and Mason City, while Highway 69 heads north to Forest City and south to Britt. Most visitors reach Interstate 35 via Highway 18 east to Clear Lake, about 30 miles away. The 1899 Hancock County Courthouse downtown features a distinctive red brick clock tower.
