Garland is a small farming town in rural Sampson County, about 60 miles southeast of Raleigh. Most visitors arrive via I-40 East to US-701 South, then NC-50 West, or from Fayetteville using US-401 North to NC-24 East. The historic railroad depot still stands downtown, marking where the Atlantic Coast Line once brought commerce to this quiet agricultural community of just over 700 residents.
