Gallup is a high desert crossroads city in northwest New Mexico, sitting right on Interstate 40 between Albuquerque and Flagstaff. The historic Route 66 runs through downtown past vintage motels and trading posts. Highway 491 connects north to Colorado and south to Arizona, while Highway 602 leads to Grants. The city hosts the massive Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial each August.
