Galatia is a small town of about 900 people in southeastern Illinois, accessible via Route 13 east-west and Route 145 north-south. It's about 8 miles from Harrisburg and sits between the Shawnee National Forest and Ohio River valley. The Harrisburg-Raleigh Airport is roughly 10 miles northwest. The town hosts an annual Homecoming Festival each September that takes over the entire main street.
