Funk is a tiny farming town of 244 people in south-central Nebraska's corn and wheat country. US Highway 183 runs north-south through town, connecting to Holdrege 12 miles south, while State Highway 23 heads east-west toward Minden. The town got its unusual name from a German homesteader who settled here in the late 1800s.
