Fulton sits on the Mississippi River about 140 miles west of Chicago, reached via Interstate 88 and US Route 30. The scenic Great River Road (Route 84) runs right through town, connecting north to the Quad Cities and south toward Rock Island. Most visitors use US Route 30 for east-west travel, while locals rely on Route 136 for regional connections. The city features a genuine 13th-century Dutch windmill that was moved here stone by stone from the Netherlands.
