Fruitvale is a small East Texas town of about 400 people, located 60 miles southeast of Dallas via I-20 and Highway 19. The main route connects through Canton and Athens, with Tyler 25 miles northeast serving as the regional hub. The town gets its name from the fruit orchards that once thrived here and still hosts an annual Heritage Festival celebrating that agricultural past.
