Fruitland is a small Mississippi River town in southeastern Iowa, about 15 miles from Muscatine via Highway 61. The drive from Iowa City takes roughly 45 minutes using Highway 218 south to local roads. This community of 1,000 residents sits in prime agricultural country where the Iowa River valley meets the Mississippi. A preserved 1876 one-room schoolhouse still stands as the town's most distinctive landmark.
