Fruithurst is a small Alabama town of 550 people in Cleburne County, near the Georgia border. Reach it via I-20 to the Heflin exit, then south on State Route 9 for 15 miles. The town sits in rolling hill country where pine and hardwood forests dominate the landscape. It's home to one of Alabama's tiniest post offices, which doubles as the unofficial community meeting place.
