Freeport is a small Pennsylvania borough of about 1,700 people located 25 miles northeast of Pittsburgh along the Allegheny River. Take PA Route 356 north from the Pittsburgh area or US Route 422 from the east to reach town. The Buffalo Creek flows right through downtown before joining the Allegheny River, creating a distinctive Y-shaped confluence that early settlers used for navigation.
