Freeport is a waterfront community on Long Island's South Shore, about 25 miles east of NYC via the Southern State Parkway. The town sits between Great South Bay and several tidal creeks, creating a network of canals perfect for boating. Most visitors arrive via Exit 20 on the Southern State to Sunrise Highway, while JFK Airport is 20 miles west. The famous Nautical Mile features fishing boats docking directly behind seafood restaurants along Woodcleft Canal.
